- 12 sheets frozen phyllo dough, thawed
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cups mixed nuts (walnuts, pistachios, almonds), finely chopped
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon ground cardamom
- ¾ cup honey
- ¼ cup water
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 3 whole cloves
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease 12-cup muffin tin.
- Mix nuts, sugar, cinnamon, cardamom, and salt.
- Combine melted butter with olive oil.
- Layer phyllo sheets with butter mixture, cut into squares.
- Press phyllo squares into muffin cups, layer with nut mixture.
- Bake 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Make syrup by simmering honey, water, lemon juice, and spices.
- Drizzle warm syrup over hot baklava cups immediately.
Notes
Store covered at room temperature up to 3 days. Best served within 24 hours for optimal texture.
